Many brides feel the urge to go shopping right away, and for some, that’s exactly what’s needed. But we’ll walk you through when it’s truly the best time to shop and which type of appointment may suit you best!
When to Go Shopping
Wedding dresses typically take 6–8 months to be made and shipped to the store, so timing is essential when planning your shopping trip.
- If your wedding is in less than 6 months: Shop now! Give yourself plenty of time and visit stores that allow you to buy directly off the rack.
- If your wedding is in 9 months or less: It's still best to start shopping now. This will help you secure your dream dress and have time for alterations. In Utah, alterations take about a month, so make sure to factor this into your timeline.
- If you have 9-12 months: Now is a great time to begin. You'll have plenty of time to browse and find exactly what you're looking for.
- If you have over 12 months: Use this time to research. Make a Pinterest board, look up bridal boutiques you want to visit, and research designers that fit your vibe. We generally recommend waiting until a year before the wedding to start shopping, as it's easier to second-guess a decision made too early.
Which Day Should You Shop?
Each day brings a different atmosphere to a bridal shop.
- If you prefer a calm and quieter environment - Try booking a weekday appointment. Weekdays are usually less crowded and provide a more private experience.
- If you love high energy and excitement - A weekend appointment might be perfect for you! The energy is higher, and there's a bit of chaos that some brides enjoy.
What Kind of Appointment Should You Book?
Our store offers a few different types of appointments to suit each bride's preferences:
- Standard Appointment - This is our classic appointment where you work one-on-one with a stylist to find your perfect dress! Other appointments may be happening simultaneously. This appointment is complimentary.
- Private Appointment - Enjoy an exclusive, after-hours shopping experience with the entire store to yourself! You'll work with a senior stylist in a more intimate setting. There is a fee for this appointment, which includes a complimentary celebratory beverage and additional special items you can add on.
- Virtual Appointment - If you can't make it to Utah but still want to shop from our in-store inventory, a virtual appointment is a great option. You'll work with a specialized stylist via video call to help you select the perfect dress. This appointment has a small fee that can be applied to the total purchase.
